1. About us
My name is Varney Polydor and I am the Co-founder and Creative Director of Kohatu +
Petros, which is the trading name for my boutique jewellery business.
As a sole trader, I am legally responsible for handling any personal information collected and
used by the business of Kohatu + Petros (referred to as we, us or our in this notice).

November 2022. Changes to this notice will appear on this page and, where appropriate, will

2. The information we collect about you
We may collect, use and store different kinds of personal information about you:

If you place an order with us, your postal address and payment details
Our website uses performance and analytics cookies to collect general information about
how visitors use the website. This information is anonymous and we cannot identify you from
the information we collect.
The information we collect does not include any ‘special categories of personal data’ about
you (this means information about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs,
sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about
your health, and genetic and biometric data) and we do not collect any information about
criminal convictions and offences.
It is important that the personal information we hold about you is accurate and up to date.
Please tell us if your personal information changes during our relationship with you.
3. How we use your personal information
We will use your personal information in the following ways:
If you wish to sign up to receive marketing from us, we will use your name and email
address to send you offers and other marketing communications.
If you wish to place an order with us, either online via our website or via one of our
pop-up shops, we will use your payment details to process your order and your
address to send you the products you have ordered. We may also collect your
telephone number to enable us to contact you about your order.
If you contact us for another reason, for instance to make an enquiry or a complaint,
we will use your contact information to deal with your query.
We do not use any automated decision-making about you.
In accordance with data protection law, we must always have a valid lawful basis for
collecting and using your personal information.
We will ask for your consent to in order to collect your contact information for
marketing purposes. If you change your mind, you can opt-out of receiving marketing
at any time.
Where you have placed an order with us, we will use your information in order to fulfil
our contract with you.
We may also use your personal information because it is in our legitimate interests in
order to run our business, and we do not believe that your interests and fundamental
rights override those interests.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information and we will not share your personal information
with any third parties for marketing purposes.
We may be required by law to share information about you if requested by law enforcement
agencies for crime prevention or detection purposes.
In order to deliver our services, we engage suppliers to provide our website and payment
services. These suppliers act as data processors on our behalf and we have put in place
appropriate contractual protections to ensure that your personal information is kept secure
and that they only process your information strictly in accordance with our instructions.
Other than as set out in this notice, we will not share your information with any other third
parties.
5. Data security and retention
All personal information you provide to us is stored securely in our systems.
We will retain your contact information for the duration of our relationship with you. If you
have signed up to receive marketing communications, we will hold your information until you
choose to opt-out.
If you have placed an order with us, we will retain your personal information for up to six
years. This is to ensure that we can manage our accounts and deal with any queries about
your order.

We do not transfer personal information outside the UK.
